Asselby Parish Council Minutes of the meeting of the Parish Council held on Thursday 7th March 2024 at 7.00 pm

Present: Cllrs R. Pickersgill (Chair), D. Walker, T. Smith, M. Clarke, G. Franklin and P. Adams (Clerk).

1. Apologies for Absence A. Macchi

2. To confirm minutes of the held on 4th January 2024.

The minutes were signed by the Chairman.

3. Matters Arising

a. Road signane at Knedlington crossroads. Raised by RP and discussed but was resolved by a site visit undertaken by RP.

b. Booth bench (TS). Siting and pricing was discussed with input on financial consequences from PA. Budget of £250- £350 was and voted on by council. Proposed MC and seconded DW.

c. Pear Tree Barn (RP). Concern was raised around ongoing disregard of planning requirements and complaints made to council. Council asked clerk to write to ERYC raising these concerns.

4. Accounts

a. HSBC – current financial statement discussed with a balance of £5007 with a forecast of £4705 remaining at year end. PA suggested finding and transferring £4200 to a savings account to improve interest return. Council agreed.

5. Planning matters

a. Main Street Asselby- Grimmer- No objections

b. Villa Farm, Booth- continued use- no objections

c. Variation for Drax underground supply – no objections.

6. Any Other Business

a. Christmas choir – RP to investigate and book a choir for the tree lighting night in December.

b. PA suggested publishing list of current councillors on social media.
