Asselby Parish Council

 

Minutes of the meeting held on 28th November 2024.

Present: Rob Pickersgill, Gary Franklin, Amanda Macchi, Darren walker and Paul Adams (Clerk)

Apologies: Michael Clarke

 

  1. To confirm minutes of the held on 10th October 2024. Duly signed off as correct and initialed by Chair (RP)

 

2. Matters Arising

a. New website and publishing of meeting dates (PA) – new website was discussed and the ease of use saved so much time and was editable much faster. Council voted unanimously to adopt and PA to action.

PA suggested setting dates for the next full year and publishing on the website. All agreed. PA to action.

 

b. Councillor numbers and replacement (DW) -m discussion was held around councillor numbers following the resignation of Tim Smith. Publicity will be generated to gauge interest in any new parishioners joining.  PA to action

 

c. APCA funds (RP)- discussion around the funds currently held by APCA following questions from parishioners about its whereabouts and use. Council voted to direct any such questions to APCA and advise that the council has no control, or wish to have any, on these funds.

 

d. Christmas Carols planning and attendance (RP) – final planning around the carols for Saturday 30th.

  1. HSBC – PA gave a statement to show £6501 in the current account. Forecasts seem to show a positive outrun at year end.
  2. Expenses this month - none

 

  1. Planning matters

PA raised an objection which had been submitted to a planning application in Booth by Hopdeals. The objection was printed and distributed between the councillors who voted unanimously to support the objection.  PA to action.

 

  1. Any Other Business carried over

 

PA to contact Barmby school to arrange a donation following the carol concert by their pupils. Sum of £50 was agreed.

DW raised the matter of sending the councils sincere thanks to Tim Smith who has been an integral part of the council and the community for a number of years. Council voted unanimously to thank him for his service and express our gratitude.

DW also raised the idea of costing dog waste bins for the village. Three were suggested and PA will discover costs involved etc

 

Agree date for next meeting – dates were set for 2025 and uploaded to the new website.
